CRAFTS COUNCIL x OITIJ-JO

Oitij-jo is a female-led charity organisation that centres on promoting Bangladeshi heritage along with empowering Bengali women with employment opportunities to demonstrate key skills that they may not usually have access to in society within the creative arts.

Back in March, they’d collaborated with the Crafts Council showcasing traditional Asian techniques within textiles. Hosting a workshop for Bengali women in the borough of Tower Hamlets to partake in a Shibori workshop run by an experienced Bangladeshi facilitator giving these women the tools to create and expand their knowledge of crafts.
